U10-U13 Goalkeeper Coaching Block - 2 x 1 hour sessionsBLOCK - Wednesday 22nd May 2013 - Wednesday 29th May 2013 (19.00 - 20.00)
Our U10 - U13 goalkeeper coaching sessions will give the young goalkeepers involved an introduction to the foundation levels of the goalkeeping position and then move on to coach the goalkeeper more advanced technical and tactical practice. The fundamentals that need to be created include basic body shapes, set positions, starting positions, basic decision making, and functional movement patterns. Each goalkeeper will be given the opportunity to improve physically with their balance, flexibilty, speed, agility and co-ordination, key areas that will be crucial in any goalkeepers development.
At such a young age is it so important that the goalkeeper enjoys the position he plays in, sessions will be made fun, informative and thought provoking whilst also challenging the goalkeeper to push his capabilities.
We feel that it is just as important that we coach our young goalkeepers to show the right attitude off the pitch as it is to produce the next generation of professional goalkeepers. Without personality and professionalism it would be very difficult to make it as a professional goalkeeper.
